A fabulous lookout with some spectacular cliff top views. The Blue Mountains at its best. It is the perfect location to demonstrate the power of the “cooee” call, which is an echo created in the valley, a call for people lost. It was very prominent 100 years ago in the Australian Bush.
It can echo around valleys and cliff faces and at this location it is a splendid example. Tell your guide to do the “Cooee” call. If he doesn’t leave him there.
This Lookout has a few stairs and steps and about 100 metres in length but access is very reasonable and worth the little bit of effort to hear the “Cooee”. The view more than makes up for the access. Only small groups can fit on to this lookout which means that very few people stop there especially large groups.
