Join us on this informative wine tour to the Hunter Valley, one of 30 wine regions in Australia with more than 100 wineries. You will visit 5 wineries from the smaller family operated vineyards to the larger producers with well known brands.
You will travel in a small group of up to 14 passengers on a luxury Mercedes Benz mini bus. (See Vehicles) Departing Sydney around 7.30am before the peak hour rush allows you time to take a short break at a Road house/café on the way for a comfort stop and time to purchase a coffee/ snack/breakfast (at your expense).
Around 10.15am you arrive in the Hunter Valley and visit the first winery for an introduction to their local Hunter wines tasting 5 to 6 varieties all of which can be purchased with some great deals on offer to our passengers.
You will visit three wineries before stopping for lunch at the Hunter Resort, home to the Blue Tongue Brewery outlet. If your tour includes a lunch option,HV2 and HV3, you will be seated at a table in the San Martino Restaurant. Those who wish to do their own lunch can select their choice from the blackboard menu in the bistro area.
After lunch we continue our wine tasting in the Hunter, tasting more wines at two other wineries before a visit to either the Cheese Factory or the Smelly Cheese shop which both have a vast assortment of locally produced products.
Your day tour to the Hunter Valley would not be complete without a visit to the Hunter Valley Chocolate Shop to try out some of the treats. Around 3.45pm we board our Mercedes Benz for the trip home arriving in Sydney at around 6.30pm.
My partner and I recently partook in a Hunter Valley wine tour and found the experience completely satisfactory. We were treated to the delightful commentary of both Rae and Nigel, who tailored a unique roster for the tour (including the very impressive Tempus Two & Peppertree wineries) and generally took excellent care of everyone. One huge bonus to the tour was the departure timing, which really pays off later in the day as you avoid the rush and squeeze in more wine, cheese & chocolate tastings. The Gourmet Lunch was superb, with very generous portions offered. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the experience, perfect for locals and tourists alike. Thanks! Jarrod T.
